Dennis T. Menass

Dennis began his career as a professional singer while still in high school as he fronted the popular rock group, The Pied Pipers.  Dennis’s powerful vocals and outstanding vocal range quickly made him one of the most popular singers in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.  He could copy all the great rock singers of the late 1960’s, 1970’s and into the 1980’s, but Dennis had his own style that stood out among the rest.  After short stints with the Citation and Holy Mackeral, Dennis found LEFT END.  They were looking for a great rock singer and he was looking for some serious hard rockers.  Dennis T. Menass fronting LEFT END spins tales of legend.  Fans could see them perform every night and still not know what to expect.  Dennis introduced the group to stage theater and the demand for the group skyrocketed.  Despite his outrageous stage antics, Dennis was a perfectionist in the recording studio.  The late great studio engineer, Ken Hammond once said, “I never worked with a singer who was so prepared for his studio performance.  Dennis knew exactly what should be captured in the vocal track and typically cut it in one or two takes.  He was outstanding.”  Dennis was also one of the principal songwriters for LEFT END.  His lyrics ranged from humorously sweet to just plain nasty.  Either way there was always a bit of cynacism in what he wrote.  Sadly, Dennis passed away in July of 2014 after a long illness.  Yet, to this day Dennis remains an enigma, a mystery and a legend.
